1. Who we are
KleverCAD BV ("KleverCAD", "we", "us") operates the website
klevercad.com and related services.
We are responsible for the processing of your personal data as described in this policy.

2. What data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, company, language preference and subscription tier when you register.
- Profile data — optional avatar photo, biography or other information you choose to add in your profile.
- Usage data — pages visited, forum posts and blog comments you create, and any files you upload.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type and operating system, collected automatically via server logs.
- Cookie data — session cookies required for login, and optionally analytics cookies if you accept them (see Section 6).
3. How we use your data
- To provide and improve our services (forum, blog, training content).
- To send transactional emails — account confirmation, password resets, contact form replies.
- To send newsletter / product updates — only with your explicit opt-in.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations under Belgian and EU law.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process your data on the following legal bases:
- Contract — processing necessary to fulfil the service you signed up for.
- Consent — newsletter subscription and non-essential cookies.
- Legitimate interest — security logging, fraud prevention.
- Legal obligation — invoicing and tax records.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share data with trusted processors who help us deliver the service:
- Combell NV — hosting provider (Belgium, EU).
- Stripe Inc. — payment processing (data transfer to the US under EU SCCs).
- Mailprotect / Combell — transactional email delivery.
All processors are bound by data processing agreements.
6. Cookies
We use two categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary — session cookies required for login and CSRF protection. These cannot be declined.
- Analytics (optional) — used to understand how visitors use the site. Only placed after your consent via the banner at the bottom of the page. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
7. Data retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
- You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing us.
- We retain invoices for 7 years as required by Belgian accounting law.
- Server access logs are retained for 90 days.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting past processing).
- Lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).

9. Security
We use HTTPS on all pages, store passwords using industry-standard hashing (ASP.NET Core Identity),
and restrict access to personal data to authorised personnel only.
Despite these measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email
or a notice on this page. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
